Hiking in a Winter Wonderland! - Jan18
Thanks to Taking It Global, Trips By Transit is kicking off the New Year with the second trip of our winter camping series! This trip will bring participants to the lovely McIntosh Run Community Trail for a short leisurely winter hike! This trail offers a peaceful walk that crosses the McIntosh Run river, and follows on its south side. Get bundled up and bring your friends for our introduction to winter hiking and camping trip! Halifax is a lot of fun to explore and be outside all year round, join us on January 18 to learn some helpful tips to get you started and meet like minded adventurers!
Meet us at Mumford Terminal Bay 2 (Stop ID: 8640) for 10:15am. Look for your Trip Leaders holding up a Trips By Transit sign!

Total Duration: Approximately 2-3 hrs
Physical Challenge Level: Easy-Moderate
Challenge Level Explanation: Distance - approximately 1.5km walking. The trail begins as a fairly level and wide crusher-dust and asphalt surface and transitions into a rougher surface of gravel and larger stones. The ground may be wet, icy, or snow covered depending on recent weather. The trip is within cell phone service. There are no bathrooms available on the trail.
To Bring: Hiking boots/winter boots with support, weather appropriate clothing (warm layers), hat, mitts, full water bottle, snacks
