World Rowing Coastal Championships 2018 - Oct11
The first time the World Rowing Coastal Championship have been held in North America! Over 400 athletes from 25 countries race in singles, doubles or coxed quadruple scull coastal rowing shells in Sidney, BC. Starting with a mass beach start, rowers race over a 4-6 km course, navigating around 6 turning marks, and dealing with waves, wind and current. For coastal rowers, big waves add to the challenge- the rougher the better! The event is open to any rower registered with a rowing club recognised by their National Federation (Rowing Canada Aviron). Join the adventure: race, volunteer, be an event sponsor or vendor, or come down to watch the fun, mingle with world class athletes and visit the vendor marketplace. Check out the event website for more information and to get involved.
