Walk to 5K: This beginner-friendly, 10-week training program is designed to prepare participants to comfortably run a distance of 5km. Weekly sessions will consist of a 15 min class covering training, fitness and technique, followed by a 30 to 40 min group run session. The MEC Winnipeg Walk to 5K Program is based on a run andwalk progression, increasing distances by no more than 10% each week, ensuring you build your body up to each challenge. No past running experience is required.
Run a Faster 10K: Our 10-week training program prepares participants to run a distance of 10km, or helps runners increase their speed over 10K. This program is only appropriate for participants who can already comfortably run a 5K distance, regardless of your pace. Slow and speedy runners alike will benefit from our fun programming.
