Introductory Pole Walking for Seniors (55+) Session 2 - Nov14
(Yes - we provide the poles!)
Pole walking is a great low-impact workout to increase the aerobic level of a walk, and the Kortright Centre for Conservation is a great environment for walking, with kilometres of trails through forests and meadows. The cool weather of the fall is very comfortable for exercise.
Kortright is offering two introductory pole-walking sessions for adults 55 years or older. Each session runs Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. for three weeks, for a total of six classes per session.
Session 2 begins Tuesday, November 7 and ends Thursday, November 23.
Anne Peacock has a Senior Fitness Instructor Certificate from the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging. She also holds an Urban Poling Certificate and has been pole walking for over 10 years.
While the program is free, we are asking for a $20 cash deposit which will be refunded on completion of the course.
This free program is funded by a Seniors Community Grant from the Ontario Ministry of Seniors Affairs.
